The Cincinnati Astronomical Society is comprised of individual amateur astronomers who each bring their talents, passions and viewpoints about astronomy to our organization. CAS, as a historically scientific entity, is firmly rooted in supporting established and tested scientific theories and facts. In today’s world of sound bites, internet memes and hoaxes, and attempts at gaining social media clout, CAS strives to be a beacon of reason and clarity for those seeking information about astronomical phenomena, and supports good observational practices through established techniques and by our collective knowledge.
